Partnership: ORBIS and DMI simplify and accelerate the migration to SAP S/4HANA and SAP C/4HANA
The internationally active software and business consulting company ORBIS AG and Data Migration International (DMI) have agreed on a strategic partnership that will enable SAP customers to migrate to SAP S/4HANA and SAP C/4HANA more easily, faster and cost-effectively. As these latest generation SAP solutions are in many cases the starting point for a digital business transformation, this is a competitive factor.
To this end, ORBIS AG of Saarbrücken will, within the framework of this partnership, distribute the system-independent information management platform JiVS IMP from DMI, an information management specialist based in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, to medium-sized and large SAP users in Germany and implement it.
JiVS IMP offers functionalities with the help of which all data and documents can be extracted from an SAP ERP system or the SAP Business Suite in a highly automated manner and transferred to the platform certified by auditors. In JiVS IMP, the data is managed in a legally compliant manner, cleaned and optimized before migration to SAP S/4HANA or SAP C/4HANA, and at the same time old data that is no longer needed is separated from the relevant data. The data stock to be transferred to SAP S/4HANA or SAP C/4HANA is massively reduced as a result of this data separation, in some cases by up to 75 percent, leading to average time and cost savings of 50 percent during the migration.
"In our view, this approach is unparalleled worldwide. It saves customers a great deal of time and money when migrating to the new software generation from Walldorf," emphasizes Frank Schmelzer, Member of the Management Board of ORBIS AG's SAP Business Unit. "At the same time, JiVS IMP forms the technical basis for a wide variety of scenarios in which data plays a business-critical role: from Big Data to Mergers & Acquisitions, from the consolidation and harmonization of application landscapes and data center locations to compliance projects, for example in the context of the EU-DSGVO. In combination with our many years of project experience and our process and industry knowledge, this results in enormous benefits for our customers in both the short and long term. This was the decisive reason for the partnership with DMI.
"ORBIS is an ideal partner for us. Because the company not only has decades of project experience, but also consistently focuses on the topic of digitization and the associated innovative technologies. The future belongs to highly automated and data-driven business processes and models, ranging from customer engagement to smart factories. This requires the highest data quality and access to the entire information inventory, including historical data," emphasizes Thomas Failer, founder and Group CEO of Data Migration International. "We were very impressed by the strategic direction and expertise of ORBIS. We are extremely excited about the cooperation and partnership with ORBIS and are convinced that together we can create great value for our customers and significantly accelerate their path into the digital future".
Data is the basis and the fuel for tomorrow's economy. This is true for operational data and customer experience data, which is created in interaction with customers, as well as for historical data in which companies have stored their intellectual property and experience knowledge. Thanks to JiVS IMP, the latter can be made easily and 100 percent available both in terms of current business activities and the development of new digital business processes and models. The platform manages historical information from its transfer from the legacy and operational systems to its final deletion over the entire life cycle in a highly automated and legally compliant manner.
Thanks to JiVS IMP, legacy systems can be shut down completely, which generally reduces costs by 80 percent compared to their continued operation. If, in addition, the data no longer needed in day-to-day business is continuously outsourced to JiVS IMP, the operational systems are kept lean and agile, while at the same time the total cost of ownership (TCO) for an SAP S/4HANA or SAP C/4HANA landscape is reduced by about 25 percent. Customers can choose to implement JiVS IMP in their own IT environment or use it in the form of a cloud service and purchase licenses for the platform either as a one-time purchase or according to the subscription model, making upfront investments unnecessary.
