Strategic partnership: ORBIS and BLUE STEC bundle SAP HANA competencies

The internationally active software and business consulting company ORBIS AG from Saarbrücken and BLUE STEC GmbH, service provider for SAP technology, operation and security from Lüneburg, have entered into a strategic partnership in the area of SAP HANA basic support. The new partners will support companies in converting their SAP ERP landscape to an SAP HANA database and subsequently in converting to SAP S/4HANA. With their combined expertise from a holistic, high-quality consulting and service portfolio, this partnership offers real added value.

ORBIS complements its own competencies in terms of consulting, processes and technologies in the SAP environment with BLUE STEC's know-how in the area of SAP base support and in the provision of hosting and cloud services. When switching to an SAP HANA database or to SAP S/4HANA, the customer receives all services from a single source and benefits from a smooth changeover with precise adherence to schedule and budget. The experts at ORBIS support the customer by, among other things, creating a customized roadmap and working closely with the customer to determine the order in which the individual SAP applications are migrated. They also check the extent to which existing SAP applications or ABAP custom programming must be adapted and optimized so that they are compatible with SAP HANA and also function smoothly after the migration. The necessary tests on the SAP-based in-house developments are carried out as part of a custom code analysis. In addition, the partners also determine the precise sizing of the SAP HANA database.

SAP Basis support by BLUE STEC guarantees the smooth interaction of hardware, operating system and database as well as the availability, performance and up-to-dateness of the SAP software. Support is provided in either German or English, is available around the clock (24 x 7 x 365) and is located exclusively in Germany. BLUE STEC also provides an SAP HANA installation as a managed service in the form of a proof-of-concept (PoC) solution in its own data center, so that the operation of critical SAP processes can be tested in a „sandbox environment“ on the in-memory database. In this way, the customer receives a solid decision-making basis for the subsequent migration of its SAP ERP system and is thus protected from unpleasant surprises.
