Having acquired Business Objects, previously a competitor company, SAP is forging ahead with its BI innovation strategy. A number of Business Objects perfectly complement SAP’s product range. Crystal Reports, for example, has remained the market leader in print-based reporting to this day. Competing systems from the two formerly independent companies were integrated in 2009 (some, for example, were replaced with a new generation of software). An in-depth knowledge of development plans is of vital importance for both prospective implementation projects and all current SAP BW users.
